Tupelo, Mississippi

Well, we've had a little technical difficulties getting this blog going so hopefully we've got that resolved now!! We now have computer access and will catch you up to date.

Saturday - we arrived in Memphis around 8:00 a.m. Once we landed in Memphis we met my friend Tatiana from California and headed to get the rental car. Got the car and met Dee Dee and Helen. Dee Dee is from Waco and Helen is from Pennsylvania. We all met down at the Graceland Plaza and headed to Tupelo.

We got to Tupelo and there were people everywhere!! Buses and buses and buses of people from every city, state and country!! Decided the line was way too long that we would go to the room and come back later. Came back later and the house was closed. So, we just walked around the house and took pictures of the outside, the chapel, the museum. Here are some of those pictures.
We did go to the Princeton Cemetary to look for the unmarked grave of Jessie Garon. Don't know why we thought we could find it when Vernon, Gladys and Elvis had not been able to find it. We walked around til dark looking at names and dates which was very interesting - especially the old old ones! We don't often visit graves but as one of the women said "it's not the people at the cemetery that bother me, it's the ones not at the cemetery that scare me" -- very good point!!

We then called it day, went to dinner and went back to the room. Had to get up early to head back to Memphis Sunday morning cause we had the house tour at 9:00 a.m.
